The Robbie Williams song Candy has been going round and around my head these last few days, thank to Forth Radio and Boogie playing it! It’s resonating through my fingers as I drum it on the sideboard and sweetly (?) emitting from my lips, possibly in a sound only Dolphins can understand, but hey.. don’t judge me! (For all I know, I could have replied to an invite to catch some fish, exciting stuff eh?!)

So back to song, I know it’s a pop song and all that, but the last line “if it don’t feel good what are you doing it for? What are you doing it for? What are you doing it for?” I don’t think we can hear enough!

We need that drummed into our brains until it squeezes out of our ears and oozes out of our eyes.

If it doesn’t feel good, don’t do it.

Too many of us do things that do not feel good, are insanely bad for us and bordering on self abuse. Why? I guess we never learned early on enough that this isn’t the way to live a happy life.

As that thought dropped into my head, it prompted a big, in car, on school run, impromptu chat with the children….

“If something doesn’t feel good, don’t do it. If someone doesn’t respect you, you do not give them your time, do you understand?”

They nodded.

Do you hear this? If it doesn’t feel good, don’t do it!

Xx
